Hi, I’m Mandy and I’m so excited to be part of the Fit4Mom team here in West Knoxville! I’ve always enjoyed being active and played soccer growing up. I found a love for running while my husband was on deployments and I enjoy doing half marathons, 10K and 5K races. We love to be outside as much as we can hiking, biking or going to the beach!
My husband, Nick, and I are from West Virginia and met in high school, but we have called many places home. Nick served 10 years active duty in the Army, and we lived in various states stationed mostly West and Midwest. I taught elementary school for 6 years and was a substitute when our moves were very short. Army life was difficult, and we had also been struggling with infertility for over four years. It was a lonely and challenging time for us, so Nick got out of the military and found a civilian job here in Knoxville where we are closer to my sister and family. We couldn’t be happier to call Knoxville home! After our son was born, I couldn’t wait to stay home and spend time with him. Thanks to the pandemic, I quickly realized how isolating and lonely motherhood can be at times. I attended the grand opening for Fit4Mom here in Knoxville and immediately felt like I had found the community that I had been craving. The workouts are fun as well as challenging, and my son and I get to socialize and play afterwards. The mom’s nights out gave me a reason to take a break and enjoy some time to myself for a few hours. I’m so excited to be part of this team in a bigger way as an instructor and to receive the gift of being inspired by each person I have the privilege to meet. No two women in this village are the same and I believe our differences truly complement one another and make us stronger. Can’t wait to meet you!
